Don’t worry. Men have asked themselves this numerous times and for the longest time. It’s perfectly normal. Yeah, so I’m changing things up a bit by targeting mainly men for this particular blog entry.

Let us be real here. As a man, yet the act like a man! You can’t just expect a girl to come up to you, ask you out, and that would spark of relationship. Rarely does that ever happen. The only situations where that would actually occur would involve a guy with classic good looks and a girl who is very confident, aggressive, and knows what she wants.

Most of the time, even if a girl is very confident in herself, she won’t ask a guy out even if he is really good looking.

And don’t get me wrong. You really don’t need good looks in order to attract women. Yes, if you do look like Brad Pitt, you can easily get away with more when it comes to attracting women. However, fortunately for the majority of men out there, you can win many women over by simply being funny, confident, and yourself.

A lot of guys don’t understand this. They think the only things that you need to attract women involves the looks, the money, and the status. Sure, these things do matter to a point, but do you really think if those are the only things going for a guy that a long-term relationship would be possible?

“How Can I Attract Women Online?”

All right, so were talking about dealing with women online. Once again, if you have a really good profile picture in your good-looking, girls will just message you. It’s simple and straightforward as that. But don’t forget, this kind of stuff does not matter.

As I said, act like a man! Browse for the women that you find attractive and who seem to have the same personality as you. Then…what do you do? Message them!

You simply will have to handle rejection. Get used to it. Not every woman out there is going to like you, just like how not every girl would be perfect to your liking. The majority of women you contact online either won’t respond or will simply chatted up with you until the conversation dies.

Nevertheless, if you continue messaging women and learning from your mistakes, you’re bound to get some really good results. Who knows? With enough messaging, you might actually be able to setup some dates in person. In a worst-case scenario, would you much rather have a 0% chance at meeting the woman of your dreams? Or would you rather have a 1% chance? Yes, those numbers sound really ridiculous, but those are just in the worst-case scenario as I said.

Now, meeting women offline can be considered harder then the whole online thing, but actually can be easier depending upon how you think about things. The problem with online dating is you end up with a lot of girls who flake. Either they won’t respond to messages or they would bail on a date at the last minute. Sometimes, you do end up wasting a lot of time with these kinds of girls.

When it comes the meeting women in person, at least you can tell within minutes if not seconds whether she is into you or not. Yes, approaching women and starting up a conversation may seem a lot harder and more nerve-racking than messaging a bunch of women online, but you need to think of it as a high risk, high reward type of situation.

However, how do you guys and gals feel about following through with a romantic relationship with one of your co-workers? Do you things this is right? Do you believe something longterm could come about this? Or are you afraid of totally ruining the dynamic you happen to have in the workplace?

Things could go really bad if you happen to work closely with this individual in your everyday work. That’s the problem I see with workplace relationships. It’s awesome how you can really spend a lot more time with your boyfriend or girlfriend if you work in the same place, but what if things don’t work out with you guys? It’ll make you two look bad for your company and things could really tank in the workplace. Your peers wouldn’t like it if a botched relationship destroys your company’s or division’s performance.

That’s just my two cents.

On top of that, I don’t think I could deal with being around my boyfriend during the entire stressful work week. Working in different companies gives you something to look forward to at the end of the day, at the end of the week, and during holidays. When I’m working at my office (and not writing on this blog lol), I’m busting my butt off to get my job done and to surpass my company’s expectations. My career means a lot to me, so I’m doing whatever it takes to stand out from the rest and to make sure my projects are going as planned. Especially in this kind of economy, I’m doing a lot to make sure that I’m keeping my job and continuing up the corporate ladder.

When all that work is out of the way, then I can look forward to spending time with my boyfriend.

Now, if I play the devil’s advocate here, let’s take things from another perspective. Many couples tend to have issues of finding time to spend with each other because of responsibilities like work or even grad school. And what if you have kids? There are so many things you have to worry about on your plate, that there doesn’t seem to be time left for the two of you.

If you’re working at the same company, then you can do little things such as eat lunch together every once in a while when you’re not working hard while eating at your desk or eating with other friends at work. Even a short coffee break helps. When you have these small spurts of time together, it relieves the need to spend as much time together outside of work with all the other responsibilities that have to be accounted for. Then it’ll seem like things are fine and nothing is missing between the two of you when it comes to spending time together.

Even if you look at things from that point of view, I’m still an advocate of not dating your co-worker. Since my career matters a lot to me and my future family’s future (haha…), I don’t want to jeopardize something I’ve been working so hard to develop all these years with a relationship.

Boyfriends and girlfriends come and go. You will find something special. However, in this kind of economy, you don’t want to lose your job or ruin your workplace dynamics through a workplace romance or a workplace relationship gone bad.

Okay, an ideal date is hard to say, as I’m the kind of girl who just goes with the flow, and if things are really working out, then I might have potential with a guy. I never see a guy just walking down the street and point out that he’s my type. It doesn’t seem to work that way for me.

Then again, if I REALLY had to choose a guy, I’ll admit that I have a HUGE crush on Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Ever since the movie 500 Days of Summer came out, I’ve become a big fan of him. Please…I hope this dating blog gets big enough that he’ll see this post, ask me out on a date, and…

…okay, I’ll stop there. That’s basically the opposite of the kind of dater I want you all to be. Don’t be desperate lol.

The Worst Date I’ve Been On

Now about the worst date I’ve been on…surprisingly, it was with one of the hottest guys I’ve ever dated. So that comes to show that looks aren’t everything

I actually met this guy at a bar a few months after I graduated from college. My co-workers from my new job were with me at a happy hour, and as I was coming out of the bathroom, I accidentally bumped into this one guy who was your typical “alpha male” (I hate saying it…but that’s like basically the best way to describe how he looks and acts).

He apologized and even offerred to buy me a drink. We drank and chatted for a bit at the other end of the bar from where my co-workers were. Things seemed pretty solid, but I told him I had to get back to my co-workers before everyone had to leave, so I gave him my number and he said he’d take me out for drinks next week. We actually talked on AIM (haha…no one uses that anymore) a bit on the days leading up to our night out.

A week goes by, and he picked me up so we could go out that night. The date was going great, until my date received a text while we were just chatting at this nice wine bar. He looked really nervous and started sweating out of nowhere. It’s like this guy went from Mr. Confident to Baby Boy Beta in a split second. I asked him if anything was wrong, and he said that things were fine.

On our way out of the bar, as we were walking back to his car, which was parked about 10 minutes away, he was acting REALLY weird and all he wanted to do was speed walk back to his car. Something was up.

Then out of nowhere, I just hear all this screaming and yelling.

You gotta be kidding me…

…this lady throws her damn shoe at him, nearly hitting me in the face. Within seconds, I figured out the whole picture. My “date” was actually married, and he was cheating on his wife with me. So how did she find out where he was and what he was doing?

His wife SNIFFED HIM OUT through his AIM logs. Wow…she must’ve been onto something this whole time and had her sights on his head. Unfortunately, I might get some stray bullets coming my way.

She was yelling out everything. How she found out. That she knew he was two-timing her for a while. This sure was some messed up situation, and I was scared for my life. She seemed ready to explode, so all I could think of was run back towards the bar and get help.

And that I did. Right away, I called my roommate who came to pick me up. I didn’t even say goodbye to my date as I was soooo scared. That pig…

…honestly, I didn’t go out on a date with anyone for a few months after that disaster. It was just too much for me lol.

So what’s your disaster date story? Can anyone top mine?

I’m telling ya. Finding success in online dating is much easier than you think. Rather than trying to approach someone in person or hoping that one day the man or woman of your life will randomly ask you out at Starbucks, take action! It’s really simple if you just pick the first man or woman you find attractive in your matches and message them! I’m tellin ya. It’s not hard at all.

People generally will either reject you or just completely ignore you. Plus, handling rejection online is nothing like rejection in front of someone. So keep that in mind. You have NOTHING to lose. As I said here before, putting yourself out there in the online dating sphere is a LOW risk, HIGH reward situation. The only time you’ll see such a situation as high risk is if you BELIEVE it’s high risk.

Believing that you’re not worthy of certain people to date due to certain standards – looks, money, height, etc. – is a self–fulfilling prophecy right there.

So if you believe something is so, it’ll be like that or it will happen as you believe. Learn to bend your own reality. Take a cue from The Matrix:
